Live Nation Buy Controlling Stake In Toilet At Local Park
In what has probably been the worst kept secret in the Australian Music Industry, promoters Live Nation Australasia have purchased a 51% controlling stake in a toilet at a local park.
In a move that is widely seen as a consolidation of Live Nation’s recent dominance of the Australian Music industry the toilet acquisition caps off a spending spree by Live Nation over the last 12 months.
The international mega conglomerate recently announced their purchase of the Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festivals along with their parent touring arm, Secret Sounds Touring.
Added to this is Live Nation’s continued ownership of the now defunct but much loved Big Day Out Festival, the rumours of Live Nation’s partnership with Stereosonic creator for a new event in 2017 and the persistent talk of Live Nation’s international Download festival making it to Australian shores in 2018.
In a statement by Live Nation the promoters promised “The toilet that people know and love will continue to operate as is however we are hoping to offer a paid premium stall to compliment what is already there.”
Many locals worry that the toilet will become commercialised and lose much of its charm and history with local man Dave Fielding stating
“I just hope it wont change too much. I found my first People magazine in there 15 years ago so its got a lot of history and fond memories for me and I know everyone in the neighbourhood feels the same.”
